After a letter about hop growing in Hampshire in the January 2020 edition of ‘The Countryman’ magazine, the Buriton Heritage Bank was featured twice in the March 2020 edition.
Writing from Nottingham, Joy Maber provided some memories of hop-picking days in Buriton – from the time that she had lived in the village (in Kiln Lane).
And, elsewhere in the same magazine the editorial team included a short summary of our Heritage Bank initiative (“Banking on local history”), explaining how and why we had started the project and how it continues to thrive.
With a monthly circulation of about 23,000, it is possible that more readers will recall memories of the parish and send information or photographs. We are always looking to find out more!
