Some hand-written manuscripts, dating from about 1810, of “Bingley’s history of Hampshire” (which was never finished or published) was recently studied in the Hampshire Records Office in Winchester.
A number of pages about Buriton include interesting information about the history of the parish and descriptions of it in Bingley’s time (including the Poor House, agriculture, eminent people etc). These aged pages, now over 200 years old, provide another source that can help to paint a picture of Buriton in the past.
